It may not be an obvious marketing technique, but the type of paper you use can make a difference to your brand. It says more about you and your company than you might think. In a digital age, it is easy to forget that paper can do something screen can’t. Tactile texture, colour and treatment of paper can make you stand out from the crowd and get across the essence of a company.
Do you need to target GPs? If so, here are some helpful tips and hints.

Felicity Knights, Director of PR and Communications, explains the thinking behind the decision to go to Twitter - and reports on the results.

For the past few months we have been working with The London Clinic, key sponsors of the Xtreme Everest 2 expedition.

An American idea has crossed the pond, which caught my eye. The idea is that people will be able to access a website by scanning the deceased's gravestone, with an epilogue and information about them on the site. With space for large gravestones running out, they have become smaller with less room for information on them. So, the idea of being able to access more information about our loved one’s life sounds like a good idea. The fact that it could have images, personal messages and videos could be comforting to those left behind. It could tie up all the loose ends of the online footprint we leave behind when we go. Some people might find this disconcerting, but I think it is a wonderful way to preserve a little bit of history. It would certainly make genealogists lives easier in the future.

We did it! On Saturday Merchant successfully executed the live tweet of a gastric bypass, and we believe it is a UK first!

This Saturday, Consultant Bariatric Surgeon Mr Pratik Sufi will be carrying out a gastric bypass on a male patient who has consented for the procedure to be tweeted live at Spire Bushey Hospital #liveatbushey.
Why tweet a live procedure? We want to illustrate, on behalf of Spire Bushey Hospital, the type of surgery and care that is undertaken by the private hospital on a daily basis and demonstrate a procedure that is often associated by many, as only carried out on the NHS.
The number of people undergoing weight loss surgery each year is increasing. Although weightloss is an obvious outcome of gastric bypass surgery, the procedure can also help reverse type 2 diabetes and combat hypertension in patients.
Here at Merchant we believe that healthcare and social media can and should combine to provide more people with information that empowers them to make the healthcare decisions they may face.
By executing this live tweet, Spire Bushey Hospital wishes to demonstrate the skill of its team, the number of people involved in supporting and caring for the patient as well as how modern technology is enabling surgery and ensuring the patient's speedy recovery.
Join us at 8.00am this Saturday, #liveatbushey
